Abbotsford investigators are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage after a deadly single‑vehicle rollover on Highway 1 just west of Cole Road that left a woman dead and a man with serious injuries.
Collision in early hours leaves one person dead
Police were called to the westbound lanes shortly before 1:45 a.m. for a report of a single‑vehicle crash. On arrival officers found a green Subaru Impreza on its roof. The female passenger was pronounced dead at the scene; the male driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The deceased has been identified in an online fundraiser as 30‑year‑old Monica Pankiewicz. The GoFundMe page created to support her family had collected more than $20,000 at the time of publication.
